Secondary French Immersion and Extended French Registration

Registration Process

Elementary students living in the City of Brantford or the County of Brant who wish to continue with French Immersion in secondary will be provided the necessary information to register at their home school, in their Grade 8 year.

External applicants to the program must contact the secondary school’s Department Head of Guidance regarding the application process.

Elementary French Immersion and Core French students living in Haldimand or Norfolk Counties who wish to pursue Extended French in secondary will be provided the necessary application information at their home school, in their Grade 8 year. External applicants to the program must contact Simcoe Composite School’s Department Head of Guidance regarding the application process.

Boundaries

A student’s home school is determined by the elementary school’s boundary. For example: École Dufferin is a feeder school for Brantford Collegiate Institute and Vocational School, while École Confédération and Paris Central School (French Immersion track) are feeder schools for North Park Collegiate and Vocational School.

Lakewood Elementary School, Walsh Public School, and River Heights School (French Immersion track) are feeder schools for Simcoe Composite School. Any proficient Core French student living in Haldimand or Norfolk may apply to this program.

Transportation

Transportation may be provided for French Immersion and Extended French students to their home school.
