Paris District Student Wins Ed O'Leary Memorial Award, Top Male Student Athlete in Brant

Canaan Sherbino felt a range of emotion last week when he was honoured with the Ed O’Leary Memorial Award as Brant County’s top male high school student athlete.

Ed O’Leary, includes commitment to school and sport, leadership, sportsmanship and excellence in athletics. All six Brant County high schools submit a male and female nominee before a winner is chosen.

Entering high school, Sherbino certainly wanted to make an impact on the PDHS sports community but he wasn’t sure how much influence he’d have.

“When I was in elementary school coming to high school, I knew I wanted to play lots of things but I wasn’t sure I could make the teams,” said Sherbino.
