Make Your Mark! Help Grand Erie Name New Schools
Grand Erie is growing and needs your help coming up with name suggestions for two new schools across the region.
New elementary schools are currently under construction in Caledonia – slated to open its doors in September 2025 – and in West Brant, on track to welcome learners in 2026. Now Grand Erie is looking for your input on a new name for each school.
Ready to start brainstorming some great ideas? Here’s a few things to keep in mind:
Our procedure governing school naming offers considerations that may apply in naming a school including local geography, streets, historical names or events, or an individual with an outstanding and enduring contribution to the Grand Erie educational community. Names should also reflect Grand Erie’s mission to build a culture of learning, well-being and belonging to inspire each student.
How will the naming process work?
Closing date: February 6, 2025.
Top submissions for each school will be taken to the School Naming committees for each region. The committee will review submissions and provide their recommendation to the Family of Schools Superintendent. The final recommendations will be taken to the Board of Trustees in late February.
Finally, each committee will bring the top recommendation to the Board of Trustees next spring for the official selection.
