Family Math Newsletters 2026-27

About

This year, our Family Math Newsletters will focus on exploring mathematics in authentic, everyday contexts, helping to build meaningful connections between learning at school and experiences at home.

By strengthening this home-school partnership, we can support families in engaging with their child's mathematical thinking in relevant and accessible ways. These newsletters align with the goals of our mathematics curriculum while providing parents and caregivers with tools and ideas to support learning beyond the classroom.

As highlighted in the curriculum, when parents and caregivers can talk with their child about their learning, they can "support their child’s success by finding ways to make a connection between what is being learned at school and outside the classroom, so that their child can apply their learning at home, at school and beyond." ( Parent Resources, Ontario Mathematics Curriculum).
